The project is considered to be the largest investment cycle in history. The fact is that this project is the second in a row in Croatia, and the first in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County among the projects funded by the Operational Program "Competitiveness and Cohesion".
With this project, the construction of 2 new piers is planned. Demolition of the existing middle pier and construction of a new one pier at approximately the same position and construction of another completely new pier. Then the extension of the port Črni mul, which is of local importance, in order to better protect the vessels in the port and increase the number of communal and nautical berth. There is also the construction of a secondary breakwater and the extension of the Mala palada, as well as the rehabilitation of part of the coastal wall in the port of Selce. Crikvenica is already taking on a new appereance.
Finishing of the project, which should be completed by the end of 2021, will meet all safety requirements for the smooth running of the county ferry line Crikvenica-Šilo (island of Krk), which is of great importance for the population of the island. The improved passenger transport service throughout the year will enable the integration of Croatian islands into the wider transport network and improve the preconditions for employment, education and access to medical care for the inhabitants of the island of Krk.
All works and construction are stopped at the moment during the tourist season.

Beautiful view from the Selce Hotel on the famous Health Promenade that connects the two tourist places; Crikvenica and Selce, ships and sailing ships anchored in the harbor. Sea air mixed with Mediterranean plants and salt make this promenade a Health Walk. The tourist tradition is very long and goes back to 1880 when the first tourists came to Selce.

Crikvenica, a well-known and popular tourist destination, especially for tourists coming from Central Europe. This coastal town is located just 35 kilometers south of Rijeka, and because of the clear sea and beautiful beaches, is today a tempting destination for summer holidays. The webcam overlooks the marina, the surrounding streets along the waterfront and the Stjepan Radić square, where all major events are held throughout the year, from sports to entertainment and cultural events.
