The British The Times includes Rovinj and Zagreb on the list of the best spring city break
Cities in our neighborhood, such as Ljubljana, Budapest and Vienna, were also mentioned, while Galway, Cologne, Zurich, Athens, Cracow, Madrid, Lyon were highlighted as more distant destinations.
Rovinj secured a high 6th place as a picturesque seaside town, rich in Venetian heritage, where guests can enjoy the beauty of the coast as well as the local cuisine during a spring day.
About the Istrian gem The Times writes that "the polished cobbles will remind you of its top-billed sibling, Dubrovnik, but with a fraction of the crowds. The best thing about spring is going along its pretty waterfront, where historic houses plunge down to the Adriatic and candlelit restaurants serve seafood, fresh pasta and truffles, while walks along pine-shaded coastline take you to secret pebble coves for a chilly spring dip. A guided walking tour will open up the history."
In 9th place is Zagreb, described as "one of the most neglected capitals of Europe". The Times mentions the medieval old town center in Zagreb, "small and unusual museums", of which it recommends the Museum of Broken Relationships or the Museum of the 80s. "The toytown Austro-Hungarian architecture will draw your eye as you head to local favourite Tkalciceva Street for a craft beer. April and May are considerably warmer than March, and it’s also eminently affordable with five-star hotels under and authentic dishes such as strukli."
