Island Pag trail

Untouched nature, dry stone walls, ornithological reserve, beautiful beaches and sea air, as well as a rich tradition and gastronomic offer are certainly a good reason to visit Kolan. Very strong wind called “bura”, Pag’s lamb and Pag’s cheese are the main associations when it comes to the island of Pag. The island's first Pag Island Trail will be held in the capital of the cheese and lamb, Kolan, on May 04th.

Island Pag Trail offers 3 exciting and interesting routes with a total length of 37 km for all visitors looking for adrenaline and good fun, and over 400 expected competitors are accompanied by Pag sheep Emili:

Blue - 11 km (total ascent + 320m)

This route is suitable for beginners, but also for more experienced runners. The trail begins and ends in Kolan. After the ascent to Sv. Vida, the trail descends and continues through the pastures all the way to Kolan. From Sveti Vid, the highest point of the island of Pag, there is a beautiful view of Velebit and the surrounding islands.

Green - 24 km (total ascent + 570m)

The longest route also requires a higher level of physical fitness, but it is not technically demanding. Like the other two, the Green Trail starts and ends at Kolan. After the ascent to Sv. Vida, the trail descends to the place Šimuni and ACI marina and continues through Mandre to the Girenica bay from where runners through Kolan field, Ornithological reserve Kolan mud and Rogoza beach return to the destination.

Mini Emili - 1.8 km (total ascent + 30m)

The shortest and easiest Mini Emili route starts at 1 pm and is suitable for children and beginners and the perfect choice for anyone who would rather participate in a more relaxed way, enjoying the race and / or an easy walk through Kolan field.

Choose your route and take the opportunity to know and feel the island of Pag while running and having fun. Participants expect plenty of good food, home-made products and top entertainment.

Why does Pag’s cheese get gold medals and what is so special about Pag’s sheep?

Sheep on the island of Pag move freely within the drywalls. Given the availability of certain herbs (as opposit to other sheep eating more or less all herbs), their milk is so valuable that it is not used to produce milk than cheese. For the same reason Pag’s lamb has a magical flavor, and whey, as a nus-product in cheese production, is a vital part of healthy sports nutrition for all athletes.

Say cheese and run! Island Pag Trail in Kolan.
