The Lipa mountain lodge is located on the easternmost slopes of Medvednica, in an area called Strmina near the peaks of Lipa (689 m) and Rog (742 m), which is why the lodge has the full name Lipa-Rog.
The Lipa mountain lodge was built in 1967 by the Lipa mountaineering association from Sesvete. In 1970, a pillar with a lattice structure and a platform was erected next to the lodge - a lookout (popularly called the "pyramid"), from which a beautiful view of the eastern part of the city and Zagorje.
Below the lodge is a spacious clearing where, next to the forest, there is the Chapel of the Croatian Martyrs, where Holy Masses are sometimes held. The Lipa mountain lodge cannot be reached by car, but only on foot. The closest approaches are the hiking starting point at the church of St. George in Planina Donja and the Vejalnica pass above Čučerje/Sruk.
The lodge is open on weekends, has an excellent gastronomic offer, and you can also stay there overnight.
Throughout the year, various events are held here on weekends, such as the Chestnut Festival in October and Lipa Days in June.
