Jezera

Jezera (Lakes) on the island of Murter, only 30 m from the mainland with which they are connected by a bridge in Tisno. Due to the naturally protected harbor in the shape of a horseshoe, they serve as a port for ships. The place has about 1000 inhabitants and is called the place of sailors, divers and fishermen. Jezera is known as the best-kept place in the Republic of Croatia. For five years in a row, Jezera has been crowned with the Blue Flower of the Croatian Tourist Board, the most prestigious recognition for the beauty and orderliness of the environment, which makes them an unavoidable place on the map of Croatian tourism.

They got their name because the rainwater stops at a part of the impermeable soil and creates large puddles, ie ponds. Once southwest of the site was a swampy soil that was largely successfully drained in the early 20th century due to malaria.

In summer, Jezera attracts many tourists, who, in addition to swimming and sunbathing, also enjoy the events. Among the events we should mention the Lake Days of the Sea in July and August which include events such as evenings of folklore groups, fishermen's festivities, tasting of fig sweets and drinks, poetry evenings, competition in old skills and sports. At the end of September, Jezera is also the venue for the international Big Sport Fishing competition, which has become recognizable beyond the borders of Croatia due to its attendance and quality.

There is ACI marina - one of the most awarded and environmentally conscious nautical centers in northern Dalmatia and a proud holder of the Blue Flag. In 2013, in the action Tourist Flower - Quality for Croatia, ACI marina Jezera was awarded the Recognition for 2nd place in the category of the Best Small Marina in the Adriatic. Excursion boats depart from the lake bay, so all tourists and visitors to Jezera and the island of Murter can go by boat to the Kornati islands or the Krka Waterfalls.
