    Viewpoint Sljeme

    Sljeme (1033 m) - the top of Zagreb's Medvednica mountain, which is reached by an asphalt road, numerous hiking trails, and from 1963 to 2007, the Sljeme cable car was also available.

    A new cable car is about to open very soon. The ride to the upper station of the new Sljeme cable car should take 16 minutes, at a speed of about 20 km / h. 1500 passengers will be able to be transported in one hour. The Sljeme cable car is 5,017 meters long. The starting point at the location Dolje is at 276 meters above sea level, and the upper station at 1030.42 meters. It has 84 cabins with 10 seats each.

    One of the most recognizable symbols of the city of Zagreb and the tallest building in Croatia (169 meters), the TV tower Sljeme, better known as the TV tower, at 1,031 meters above sea level. It is owned by OiV and T-HT, which provide their services to all residents of Zagreb and the surrounding area. The plan is to make the tower a tourist attraction that will be open all year round. At the top of the tower, at as much as 1114 meters above sea level, the highest viewpoint in continental Croatia will open with a panoramic view of all 4 corners of the world. With the help of a telescope, users will be able to enjoy the view of Zagreb and Hrvatsko Zagorje. The plan is for it to be a rotating restaurant, also the highest catering facility of its kind in Croatia.

    At the very top is the restaurant Vidikovac with a beautiful terrace overlooking the Julian and Kamnik Alps and a good part of Hrvatsko Zagorje. A terrace is located above the ski slopes, another unavoidable Medvednica content. Generations of Zagreb residents have grown up on this small ski resort, including Janica and Ivica Kostelić, a brother and sister who celebrated Croatian skiing and brought two major World Cup slalom races to Medvednica. The Snow Queen Trophy race has become part of the tradition and Zagreb's tourist offer.

    The recipe for the success of the Vidikovac restaurant is the perfect beans with sausages. Many mountaineers and skiers come here to refresh themselves and at the same time enjoy the view of the Zagorje side. Friendly staff, fast service, affordable prices is something these restaurants care about. And a pleasant or "cozy" atmosphere is all you need after a hiking tour or a hard day of skiing.

After 11 years of solving immovable property issues, solving the amendments to the Medvednica Spatial Plan and Urban Planning Plan for the Medvednica Zone, the construction site was opened at the end of January this year and the whole project should end in 15 months.
