    Who would say that besides the Croatian legend of skiing, Janica and Ivica, Croatia belongs to a country that can not brag of great skiing locations. There are only a few ski resorts in Croatia, which are easily listed on your fingers. But they have also their advantage.

    For families and young people who want to spend the weekend on skiing, Croatia is an ideal choice, affordable and close. And we can freely say “home sweet home”!

    Until 2023, when the last FIS Snow Queen Trophy race was held on Sljeme, featuring world-renowned slalom skiers, Sljeme prided itself on hosting the World Cup, which was broadcast by all major global TV companies. The 2024 and 2025 races were canceled due to lack of snow/conditions, and the races for the 2025/2026 season were not included in the FIS calendar. So, currently, Sljeme serves Zagreb residents for weekend sports activities and exclusively for sledding when there is enough snow.


    Ski resort Platak close to Rijeka is very specific – during the skiing you have beautiful view to the Adriatic sea.

    Ski resort Čelimbaša in Gorski Kotar and Mrkopalj are ast developing destinations.

    Due to the low altitude, all Croatian ski resorts can not live long with snow, except in the real winter months, if there is a snow cover.
